Streaming viewership among female streamers dropped in May, perhaps due to a lack of big events and collaborations. However, women’s esports content seemed to hold together viewership with multiple of the top female streamers creating VALORANT content and, in one case, participating alongside the men in the Kings World Cup.

Emiru held onto the #1 spot for May with an average minute viewership (AMA) of 16K – a 4K decrease from her performance in April. Emiru continued her streak of working with sponsors to pull in more viewers. This time, Emiru partnered with the Twitch Drops event for Rustin which players could receive a special Emiru-themed assault rifle skin if they watched multiple hours of her content.
alondrissa
Alondrissa overtook the competition to become the top Spanish-speaking female streamer this month, pulling in an AMA of close to 16K. Apart from hopping on the GTA V bandwagon, alondrissa spends most of her streams collaborating with other streamers such as CrystalMolly in podcast-style discussions. Her top collaboration for May was with Argentinian YouTuber Angie Velasco, chilling and trying out popular Argentinian candies.
rivers_gg
For the first time, rivers_gg became only the second most popular Spanish-speaking female Twitch streamer with an AMA of 15K, rising 2K from May. Her content is diverse, showing her fan’s dedication as they follow her to games from Mario Party to Plants vs. Zombies. No doubt rivers_gg’s viewership was boosted by being one of the few female participants in the Kings World Cup, competing against ibai, WestCOL, and SXB.
Valkyrae
Valkyrae continues to hold her ground as the top female YouTube streamer with an AMA of 11K. Her GTA V RP’s are the primary focus of her streams, maintaining her loyal following. Engaging with her community, Valkyrae also reviews posts on her subreddit to pay respect to her fan’s dedication. By combining this with a VALORANT collab with streamers like Sykkuno, Valkyrae achieved her most popular stream for the month.
Maya
Maya, AKA Maya Higa, has flown up the leaderboard to #4 with an AMA of 8K. Maya focuses on wildlife protection content, running her own animal sanctuary. Fans clearly stuck around after her successful wildlife sanctuary collab back in April, providing wholesome content that promotes conservation to her viewers.
Pokimane
Pokimane remains in the top 10 after streaming again on Twitch, hitting an AMA for May of just over 7.5K. Her frequent collaborations (such as the aforementioned cosplaying streams with Emiru) are popular among fans, whilst her competitive VALORANT gameplay is the core of her content. This was certainly the case for May, with Pokimane’s VALORANT collab with tarik bringing in a new influx of viewers.
Kyedae
Kyedae continued to pull in a loyal viewership in May, bringing in an AMA of 7.5K. Kyedae continues to focus almost exclusively on VALORANT streams, but one of her more popular events saw her trying out the new Shooter title XDefiant which has been capturing the attention of streamers.
kkatamina
Kkatamina makes her first appearance in the top 10 female streamers this month with an AMA of 6.5K. The Korean-speaking streamer tries out a variety of games that are typically popular among VTubers such as Pokémon and Elden Ring. However, this month her big event was the Rust Twitch Drops campaign, similar to Emiru. Hopefully, her ability to keep mixing up content can set her apart from streamers who solely focus on one competitive game.
QTCinderella
QTCinderella made her return to the top 10 leaderboard this month with an AMA of 6.5K. Like with Emiru and kkatamina, QTCinderella owes her spot on this list to the mega-successful Rust Twitch Drops campaign. However, her IRL reaction and near-obsessive baking continues to maintain her loyal fan base, such as her attempt to break the 100-cookie world record.
ExtraEmily
ExtraEmily has continued her winning combination of Elden Ring and IRL content in May, bringing in an AMA of 6.5K. Collaborating with other streamers like Fuslie and QTCinderella has broadened her viewership, leaving behind the gaming chair to try fun new activities like fire breathing. Her trip to the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Texas was a particular favorite among fans.
Despite the lower than usual viewership for female streamers, their presence in popular events and esports is encouraging. QTCinderella’s return to the top 10 is also welcomed as a darling of the live-streaming community who will hopefully continue to hold the attention of viewers. Stream Hatchet will watch as new collabs among female streamers are announced.
